Philosophy and Programs
Our educational ministries are designed to provide children and youth with opportunities to explore questions of faith in a nurturing, accepting, and supportive environment. All of our Sunday School teachers, youth advisers, and volunteers are CORI-checked to help ensure children’s safety.
Children’s Education
For children in pre-kindergarten through grade 8, we offer regular Sunday morning faith formation classes based on an ecumenical curriculum that encompasses worship, education, and mission.
During in-person services throughout the program year (September – June), children remain upstairs in the sanctuary for the first part or worship and may then depart for their faith formation classes or nursery. On Communion Sundays, children stay in the sanctuary for the full worship services.
Nursery Care
During the Sunday morning in-person worship service, we provide nursery care for infants and toddlers through age four. This often includes a short story time and snack for older toddlers and serves to introduce our littlest ones to the basic stories of our faith. Our Nursery program is available year-round.
Youth Ministry
Youth in middle and high school may gather on weekend afternoons for social events and service projects, such as Franklin County Community Meals Program (a hunger alleviation ministry) or trash removal from public roads, and for fun events like hikes, games and pizza night, and music festivals.
